Rotanak is a highly skilled engineer with a remarkable ability to pick up new concepts quickly. During our time working together, he made a point of completing many of the courses and training modules available to him, building one of the most diverse skill sets on the team. He became my go-to engineer whenever I needed to tackle a topic that very few people understood.

What stands out most, though, is his composure. In high-pressure situations he stays calm and focused, guiding customers toward a resolution with a clear, structured approach. He was always there when I needed another brain on a challenging ticket. Approachable, easy-going, and genuinely collaborative. At GitLab, Rotanak was one of the first people I got to work with, and that was probably one of the best experiences of joining a new company I could have asked for. By showing me the CREDIT values through example, Rotanak was key in getting me up to date on how the work environment works; this mattered because it was my first all-remote position, and making that human connection with colleagues presents a unique challenge.

What I remember most about him is how detail-oriented and collaborative he is. Rotanak is such a wonderful human to work with. He is filled with kindness, generosity, and good humour. He demonstrated deep technical knowledge for many components within GitLab in tickets, and disseminated that knowledge through articles and documentation.
